Nottingham Forest’s U21 Men opened their Kamloops International Cup campaign with a composed 2-1 victory over Cavalry's U21's on a scorching Monday evening at Hillside Stadium.

Jayden Powell opened the scoring midway through the first half, calmly slotting home a low cross to give the English side the lead. Forest doubled their advantage just after halftime when Scott Hamilton converted from the penalty spot.

Despite trailing 2-0, Cavalry responded in the second half. Chanan Chanda pulled one back, and the Canadian side continued to apply pressure as the match wore on. However, Forest remained organized and tactically sound, showing strong discipline for a team just kicking off its preseason tour.

With temperatures soaring into the 30s at kickoff, both teams showed impressive fitness and determination in front of a sizable crowd at Hillside.

Next up at the Kamloops International Cup: Arsenal’s U21 Women take on Vancouver Rise Academy on Wednesday evening, also at Hillside Stadium.
